Makeup Lessons

Our makeup lesson system is a little different than most studios. They are efficient, and respect the time of our teachers and students.

When a lesson is missed a teacher will send a list of prerecorded makeup lessons for a student to watch and practice along to. They are generally 10-15 min long and are meant to watched twice with their instrument. They tend to address topics that are supplemental to lessons, and many students bring the concepts back to their next lesson for additional instruction. The lessons are sometimes easier or harder than the student’s level. That’s ok. Reviewing an old concept is always good, and an introduction to a more advanced concept sometimes inspires students.

Sometimes if it’s better for the student’s schedule or the family’s schedule, a student can just watch the makeup lesson. (For instance in a car ride on a family trip.)

Makeups don’t expire, and you can ask for an additional one at any time.

Tuition does not change based upon missed lessons. Your tuition reserves the teacher’s time at the agreed time each week.

On the very rare occasion that a teacher has a conflict (we work very hard to not let this happen, consistency is very important to us), we will reschedule those lessons that week.

We work very hard to respect everyone’s time. If you are missing too many lessons, or feel like rescheduling is top of mind, let’s communicate and find a slot that brings consistency and stability to your music lessons.
